National convention on Health rights

Jan Swasthya Abhiyan (PHM-India) organised a very well attended and organised National convention on Health rights during 11-12 December at Delhi. Over 550 participants drawn from 23 states across the country joined the event, displaying major enthusiasm and crossing expectations of participation
even by the JSA organising team. This was indeed a fitting event to celebrate the completion of 25 years of JSA and PHM.

All 15 JSA constituent networks participated. There were 8 parallel sessions on important health rights themes. There was one session of briefing major parliamentarians from major political parties on the conventions demands-with a request that they commit to these demands. And finally the conference adopted a resolution that called for important changes in health policy and charted the way ahead for JSA (in Tamil, this is known as Makkal Nalvazhvu Iyyakkam ) For more on this conference
